Hello from Korea

We arrived in Korea safely! Right now I have jet lagg so I actually don't know what time it is right now. :( Our trip went very nicely. We left Hobe Sound at 5:30 am on Saturday morning and flew from West Palm to Detroit. Robert got us upgraded to First Class!! It was my first time ever to sit in first class. They pamper you so much. We got our drinks while everyone else was still sitting down :) They gave us breakfast too but I slept through and was not hungry when I woke up... my first time in first class and I sleep through the free food. :( They have plug ins for your computer too and free wi-fi. wow. its crazy what things you can do while flying thousands of feet above the ground. We touched down in Detroit and had enough time to use the restroom and went straight to our next gate to line up. We were hungry but didn't have time to get any food. The flight was very full. The seats all had movie screens and a huge selection of old- new movies, games, etc. They feed you meals at odd times (I think it has something to do with getting your body adjusted to the new time zone). Robert slept alot on the trip but I never am able to sleep well on flights so unfortunately I was awake for the majority of the 14 hour flight...
We arrived in Korea and all our luggage made it with us! i was so happy. I thought for sure with the different flights that some would get lost. Our driver picked us up and didnt speak any english but we could tell he was a bit surprised at all our stuff. We had 4 plastic totes, 2 large suitcases and 2 small suitcases as well as 2 small carryon bags. THat seems like alot for just two people. We drove about 1 1/2 hours but I slept most of the way. Our apartment is on the 5th floor of a building and there is no elevator so the poor men had to lug all that luggage up those flights of stairs. The korean man was really huffing by the end and you didn't need to speak Korean to tell how he felt about our stuff! :) Our head teacher and the boss of the school were here to meet us and showed us the apartment. It is very small but sufficient. We walked to the school which is about a 5 minute walk and we will be doing that from here on out as we will not have a car here. They showed us the school and then they took us out to dinner along with his family. Here in Korea it is a great honor for the boss to invite you to dinner with his family. He is a very nice man. They took us to a Chinese dinner and there were, no joke, about 6 or 8 courses. I lost track. I was getting so full and I was so tired that I sat there shaking my leg just to stay awake. I was eating things that I wasn't sure what they were and just prayed because I didn't want to offend him. It was alot on a traveling stomach :) We returned to our apartment and got settled in for the night. I will have this week to get the apartment cleaned and moved in. I will put up some pictures so you know the general layout.
I love and miss you all and thank you for all the prayers.

Good thing Darcy wasn't with you guys or the poor Korean man would have gone ballistic! :) Glad you made it safely and that it's going well for you all. Looking forward to seeing pics of your place!

So good to hear you are there safely!! Is the apartment furnished - since it doesn't sound like you took any furniture with you. Did the Korean man know he was toting all your earthly possessions up the stairs!? LOL!! Please keep us updated!! Can't wait to see pictures! When do your jobs start?
